And monopolies are very rare where they are not the result in substantial part, of government involvement (e.g., utility companies, also Microsoft, with massive government contracts) government regulation (e.g., AT&T and utility companies again), or at least favorable financing via government-assisted central banks to companies working to eliminate competition (e.g., Standard Oil).
And as for the ideology at work in efforts of monopolization, it is no mere coincidence that Bill Ayers' father was the CEO of Commonwealth Edison, nor that Gates and Rockefellers are given to support efforts on the Marxofascist end of the spectrum.
