I've always wondered if there is an effective method to having your starters transition to other positions. For example, I would often like my starting SG to transition to PG if the starting PG is on the bench. Logically, I tend to set my depth chart as follows:

PG:
Player 1
Player 2
Player 3

SG:
Player 2
Player 3

While occasionally this works, I more typically see Player 3 sub in at PG and leave Player 2 at SG. Is there a better way to set this? Not a huge deal would just like to know if its possible.

Try to leave an open depth chart slot between Player 2 and 3 at PG to see if that helps shift them into the roles you'd like.

PG:
Player 1
Player 2
OPEN
Player 3
