Need 1 for 1969 Career Progressive League Topic

We need 1 owner for a Diamond Legends or Career Progressive League which started in 1961 and will soon be advancing to the 1969 (it's 9th) season. Details on the team available will be provided in the following post.

In the Diamond Legends (or Career) WIS leagues, players use their average career statistics. In this specific league, that will mean using their average career statistics in a progressive from their first year of eligibility starting in 1961 through their last year of WIS eligibility. In this league, Don Sutton (whose rookie season of WIS eligibility was 1966) will be eligible every season from 1966-1988-no IR seasons !!

The league has 16 teams, Alternate WIS format E (4 teams make playoffs) No DH,No WW, No AAA, No injuries. General Managers must be deal with a salary cap of $80 million. Owners must use the actual ballpark used by their franchise in 1968.

Annual drafts will be in inverse order of finish except that for the first round only there will be a random weighted lottery among the 4 teams with the worst record (4 chances for the team with the worst record, 3 chance for 2nd worst etc.). The tiebreaker will be run differential (runs scored less runs allowed) with the team with the worst run differential drafting higher.

The team available is the New York Yankees. For 1968 the Yankees have a  record  of 50-68 with 44 games left in the season.

The Yankees had 2 players retire after the 1968 season (SS Dick Howser and OF Roger Maris). The amount of salary available for draft picks will be $14,670,087 plus the salaries of any players cut.. The Yankees will. highly likely be a draft lottery team as there are 2 teams currently with a 49-69 record and 2 teams with a 50-68 record.

Following are the batting statistics for the Yankees 12 returning hitters for the 1969 season:

Please note that due to a shortage of IP in the first few seasons , during the first season all teams were allowed to draft 1 pitcher from 1941, with those pitchers retiring after the 1949 (league 1969 season) season or their actual year of retirement, whichever came first.

For the Yankees, due to a trade they have 2 such pitchers (Tiny Bonham and Fred Hutchinson). Both will retire after the upcoming season and will need to be replaced for the 1970 season.

This team will be a rebuilding job. However, the Yankees will highly likely be drafting 1st-4th for the 1969 draft. Among the possible lottery picks are C Thurman Munson1B Al Oliver, 2B Dave Cash, 3B Richie Hebner, SS Don Money, OF Lou Piniellea and P Vida Blue.

Interested owners will be given access to the league's private forum, which will soon have preliminary lists of available players (including 1969 rookies and previous undrafted players but NOT including any 1969 cuts), and a table of 1969 pre-cut roster totals and pre-cut available funds for draft picks for all 16 teams.

Please indicate your interest below and/or site-mail me with any questions you may have about the career format.
