He has 7 range and a 17 glove...all other ratings are good and has incredible hitting rating - he's obviously a DH, but I'm in the NL - just curious how much of a liability that glove and range will be? - he's still a year or 2 away from the bigs

To summarize the forums threads that Mike just referenced: your guy will be brutal at 1B, but much less harmful (but still not great) in RF.

Keep in mind, 1B gets the most "touches" of the ball.  RF gets the fewest.

7 range would say no 1B. I like to see my 1B have at least 50 range. I have had many that had around 70 range that got a lot of plus plays. I assume that saved quite a few potential doubles.

If he's a beast hitter, no.   Stick him in RF, accept that he'll have 20 negative plays/dozen errors and deal with it.
