Declined Redshirt Topic

I'm thinking about redshirting a sophomore this season. I know it's less likely for a sophomore to accept a redshirt. My question is, if I try and he declines it, are there any repercussions to his skills? Will his WE drop because I tried to redshirt him?

his WE will drop if he declines it, but it will jump back up if you remove the redshirt.

Assuming he takes it, and assuming his WE drops during the redshirt season, will it jump back up the next season?

no, it will improve at the normal rate. so if it drops to 15, it will increase at the same rate as a guy who started out with WE of 15
