I worked with this when recruits were really far away from my campus. It can be efficient.

40 player calls and 40 letters.....for $1100 pretty much any D3 recruit will consider you.

also if anyone could mention the ST effectiveness for recruiting when not being used for pulldowns, so scouting a D2 player as a D2 coach how does that compare?

i think people value scouting trips around 2-3 = a HV

I value ST as a little less than 1/3 of a HV.

Does this method work at every level? So a D2 coach going after a D2 sortable player, or a D1 going after a "level appropriate" player?

I don't know for sure.   I think it works at D2....I am like 90% sure I have done it and it worked but I can't say for certain.....I don't play D1 so I don't know.

Question: Is this only for long-distance recruiting?

Reason being, I can't see spend $1,100 on a guy reasonably close to home since he may sign for one HV and a scholarship.
