I just came off a successful season in DII knight and wanted to see what jobs are available. I'm a long shot for C+ Virginia Tech and qualified for all other C+ schools except Dartmout. I'm also not qualified for D Columbia or D- Harvard. The Ivy League just doesn't like my resume.

I know why. It's because I cut a player I recruited a couple of seasons ago. The guy was virtually useless except for bh and pa. I recruited him in a near panic and made the correction next recruiting session.

I'm not complaining about not being qualified. I Like that I'm not qualified and that those schools are looking for something specific. I wish there were more of this. Ex. DI school that runs flex/press more likely to hire coach already successful in one or both of those sets

Freson St. and UNLV would have taken you.....those schools are like the anti-Ivy in this game, they'll take you no matter what.

Klemm is insane for a freshman and Ray is also pretty dang impressive for a true frosh.

Back to the point though...I agree completely that it would be cool if the job process was a little more intricate. For example if a coach takes a small-time low-major DI school and turns them into a Top 25 or Sweet 16 team in just a few seasons, they should be qualified for some top jobs immediate, similar to how it works in real life. It's better than watching those programs wilt with good ole' Sim AI at the helm.

Preferences for experience in specific offensive and defensive sets would be neat as well. Perhaps experience recruiting in certain regions of the country might make a coach more lucrative as well.

I've always said that it would be fun as well if there were some mechanism within the game where schools who just fired their coach would reach out and contact you with an opening that you matched the school profile for. Just an email or something that says "Hi, this is so and so from <School>, as you might be aware, we have a vacancy in our program and were wondering if you might be interested in sitting down to have a discussion about it..."

KEvin Bannon did that.....he went from Trenton State to Rider to Rutgers to OOPS and then coached his sons HS team for a season or two......I think he is out of coaching now.
