Forgot about a scholarship I offered to a recruit and hadn't done any actions towards him since 5/5 and he signs with me when I wasn't planning on taking him as he scouting trips revealed hes not good and now I miss out on my 80 ath center with 85 reb 85 def and I only have 1 center signed for this recruiting class 4 guards and 1 SF whose basically a guard.

It happened to me on a DII team, I got stuck with a player with no upside on defense and a ranking of 14... (Smile) I think we all make that mistake.

I've done it, too.   Now I don't offer a scholarship until my scouting is done.  OR, if I've  changed my mind on a recruit, I double and triple-check that I've withdrawn the offer

been there and done that.  Deeply frustrating.

Once, at about 7:58 pm, I was sitting with the family watching some kids movie, when I realized that I had not taken off a schollie of a guy like that, rushed from the room to the computer, it was slow, by the time I got to the recruiting page he had signed........my wife asked what was wrong........I could not bring myself to say that I just mistakenly gave a scholarship to an imaginary basketball platyer......

I wish I could pull a Tom Crean and oversign oh well, think this is the first time I've done it maybe I did it once in my first month or two.  Of course it happens right when I move to D1...  Would've given me the "twin towers" in the low post.

Equally as bad was my last night...had six to offer and was debating on a transfer Guard or Sign a FR Power Forward that I had just received a high/high scouting report on for a core value....So I had seven offered and sat down to eat supper and give myself time to consider my current depth.

Verizon internet service went out in Southwest Virginia and was out till around 2 this morning.  SO WIS decided which six I was going to sign, and that  I was going to have a Upper Class transfer guard, and not the Freshman PF with outstanding potential.
