Stebbins from my Rowan team is sitting at 103 gained this season, with highs in defense, block, low post and ball handling still and low only in passing still in effect.

I had a JuCo at D3 go up 134 in his first season a while back. Thread here. That seems to be the most ever gained by a JuCo, and one of the highest overall regardless of year. Here's another related thread.

147 point increase in 1 season(I thought it was only 142 but I double checked and it was 147)

Finished his career gaining 240 points in 2 seasons.  Still was black in LP/BH

Also, would you(plural you) tend to think of the guy next year as more of a beefy but slightly slow shooting guard or a small forward?

He'd be fine at either one, it really depends on the rest of your roster. Although I would say that in a vacuum I'd be more inclined to play him at SF.
