Postseason, starting a pitcher at under 100% Topic

Does anyone run their ace out there for game 7 at 80-90%. How much of a dropoff does it lead to?

Sure.

Sometimes (most of the time, in my experience doing so) they pitch as well if not better, BUT I'd shorten the PC a bit and be prepared for the fact that he won't recover for quite sometime. Like maybe midway through the next series, depending on his DUR.

Yes.  Mixed results.   I don't change PC but fully understand that he won't be available til later in the next series.  But, if I don't get to the next series, it doesn't matter.

http://www.whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=6552409 Run him out there at 86%? What's the lowest % you would run someone out there at?

I could also run http://www.whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=4591675 out there... but it means taking him out of bullpen (which has probably been the teams Achilles heal) for games 6 and 7. How good would your alternative have to be not to run Blair out there?

Yes.   He had a .88 WHIP over 200 innings.   I want him pitching at 86% over pretty much everyone.

I won game six, so it ended up being moot. But mike, you would pitch Blair at 86 over stoddard at 100 (bullpen concerns aside?). How much lower would you go with Blair in terms of % and still start him?

As long as he's not in the red, I want him pitching my must win game.

I've run guys out as low as 55% and it seemed fine.
