Biggest performance drop off ever Topic

From 2 MVP's in 3 seasons, the 2nd a 195 RBI performance in a legit private world in a non-tard park, to ugh.

You should be happy for the great years, not sad for the mundane and expected ones. Lucky to have those seasons.

Agree with hypnotoad. The 'drop off' numbers you speak of are what I'd expect his average to be, maybe 5 or 6 more homeruns. Be thankful that he played out of his mind for as long as he did.

I think players like that are by nature pretty inconsistent. You're guy reminds me of one of mine:

Both have high power, but not elite splits and average eye. And coincidentally both play in Buffalo. My guy didnt have as big of a dropoff, but the season where he dropped from 54 to 35 homers was pretty frustrating.

I agree with the comment above that he was probably overachieving during the 59 homer season, and that you should probably just be happy you got that from him. High power with a low eye leads to an inconsisten player, unless the other numbers are high.

His career averages look about like what I would expect, so I would consider his recent seasons a regression to the mean.

His number of games played also dropped significantly over the past two seasons.
