If you cut a player you previously signed, do you still run the risk of losing another player, even if recruiting has started?

I think there is a chance no matter when the cut takes place, if you cut a player you recruited there is always a chance you can lose another player if i remember right

This has been my understanding for several years now. I cut a kid on a D2 team years ago and had a good player leave as well, but it was not during recruiting. I wasn't sure if that mattered at all or not.
It looks like Cal Bears found an old thread about this as well. Not sure if the answer he is looking for is there however.

I should know this, but when you cut a guy during recruiting does he show up in the next cycle(s) as a transfer who can be signed or does it wait until the next season?  I cut a guy and dont see him signed or unsigned.

They show up right away. Maybe missing a cycle, but that's it. They can drop or move up a level. I've also cut a guy that had been signed as a transfer. I'm pretty sure those guys give up and never show up.
