Mid-term GPA 1.3 Topic

Did someone ever see 1.3? I put 20 in SH, is it enough to get back to what is expected?

what year is the guy?

how much study hall did you give him in the first half of the semester?  if he was at 12 or 15, you need to do more than 20.  If he was at zero, maybe 20 works.  BUT 1.3 is VERY low.  He needs to do well to get that over 2.0.

take a look at the other thread running around about SH approaches

I think most folks give freshmen at least some minutes at the start - 10 is probably the high end, 5 probably the low end.  Views vary and how much folks adjust for high school gpa varies.

For your guy, since he was at zero, 20 is nice big jump.  I bet you will be okay.  if your team falls apart without him, you might go to 25.

IFFF he got a 1.3 gpa even with 10 mins of study hall, I would be saying that you have a chance that he'll be okay at 20 but less confident

at least thats my view

Dean Wormer really likes us to keep those GPAs up - our primary mission is education!

I never give anytime to my players until midterm. It has worked out great. Never had one ineligible, because if they get 1.8 to 2.4 I get them to 15. If they get 2.5 to 2.8, I give them 8. Nothing for the others. I truly do not give a lot of time in SH.

But that 1.3 ... GPA stunned me. I had never seen that.

It's still better to stick them with some study hall before the midterm anyway because then you won't have to throw an excessive amount the second half of the term to ensure that they're inlegible. It's the more efficient way to go about it IMO.
