Type A / B effected if removing from 40 man? Topic

I have a couple players next year that I have no plan on resigning, but could be Type A/B guys.  If I remove them from my 40 man, to protect a couple 6+ year minor guys I acquired in trades, will those 2 FA guys still be Type A/B eligible?  I don't want to lose them for nothing if possible.

Yes.  Their roster status before they left as FA's would have no bearing on Type A/B eligibility.

You do have to make them an offer right? Or do you just let them leave and get the TypeA/Type B pick?

I've never made them an offer...if they say "this player is a type A/B" free agent", I usually let them walk to get the pick (if someone signs them)
