Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Carl Glanville

This guy projected to be a AA/AAA player in the very low 60s with some power. He's an 11th round pick from 2-3 years ago.

Today I got a DITR email and his projections are now at 79/80 with really good hitting and the ability to be a decent 1B/DH and marginal LF.  He has 89 patience. I have $14 million in ADV, so perhaps he'll only get 66% there. Still, that ain't bad.

Do I trust this?

He was an 11th round draft pick, so if he turns out to be even marginally useful as a MLB player, he's a freebie.

Try to develop him in the minors.  If he turns out to be something, great.  If he doesn't, you haven't lost anything.

Agreed. I guess what I am wondering is are some of these DITR guys able to become All-Stars? Was it that way in the past?

A SS won a GG but that world is gone.

Sure they can.  I have eight diamonds on my current ML roster.  Six RP, one SP and a defensive C.

Fwiw, based on the way DitRs used to develop, I would have expected not an all-star but a respectable starting LF (if you develop him).  But the DitRs seem to have changed, so your mileage may vary.

Any that I've seen be even somewhat useful are defensive Cs and RPs, like previously mentioned. It's worth having a 80/80/80 C as backup for sure.

I once had a double DITR that played catcher, he end up being a top notch defensive catcher with a lot of pop.

With the new changes to the game we will have to wait and see how the DITR turn out. From the past the only DITR I seen worth playing at the ML level were C, RP, and low contact/high power 1B/DH type.
