Just finished the regular season at 44.1 PPG allowed. Has anyone had a lower number than this that you can think of?

I  checked my worlds (Rupp, Wooden, Naismith, Smith, Crum, and Iba).  Noone's currently below 49% except a  DII Crum team that's only played 5 games.

There was an engine change a few seasons ago...before that we had more low scoring games.  It's possible that someone ended up lower than 44.1% back then

I'm with al -- historically there probably was as it wasn't uncommon to see teams going double slowdown -5 against each other. The engine change made that a less plausible strategy choice and also ticked scoring generally upwards. While I can't specifically remember a team back then lower than 44.1, I certainly would not be surprised to discover that there was one, and probably several. I would guess you'd be in the running for the "modern era" (for lack of a better term) title though with that figure, depending on what happens in the postseason.

Agreed with rednu.  In the old engine you'd have games between top teams ending 32-26 beccause both went slowdown and were very good defensively.  In the "modern" engine, 44.1 is really solid and would probably make you one of the top teams.

I've always been really into the advanced metrics (or tempo free stats) like Kenpom. It takes pace out of equation so you can compare apples to apples. I put together some excel spreadsheets so I can calculate that stuff out.

I ran your game results and I got a Defensive Efficiency of 79.6 points allowed per 100 possessions.

For comparison sake, I did this also for the team in my D3 world with the lowest Points Allowed Per game total of 51.0ppg (Penn St Altoona) and I got a Defensive Efficiency of 67.9 points allowed per 100 possessions.

However, a big thing that is missing is the SOS. I have no way of doing the adjusted OE and DE like kenpom does and it'd probably take doing the math for every single team to do. So it's probably not feasible to ever get there but still fun to look at and talk about. Instead, I like to look at teams within my conference since even though you have unbalanced conf schedules, it's a lot closer than including non conf schedules.

I'd like to post these excel documents to the forums so other people can use them but I'm not sure how. I don't think a google doc would work because all of the formulas are lost when I cut and paste, not to mention the formatting. Unless I'm doing it wrong? Is there another way?
