Signing IFA late Topic

Just signed an IFA, but there's 8 games left in my minor league season. If I choose not to assign him, will it save a year of his development? I think I have heard this before but I couldn't find anything using the search option.

Not sure it saves development but it saves service time.

Mike, I may have been mistaken here, but I thought that if you don't assign the player he'll automatically revert to free agency after ten real life days (or something like that).

8 games left in the minor league season.   Plenty of time before 10 RL days.   But you're correct, he does have to assign him.   I assumed he was asking if he could wait til the season was over.

Any IFA I sign after RL starts I assign to their appropriate level and make them inactive. Activate them the following year with 0 years of playing time.
