It seems like the general thought is three or four consecutive NT bids can put you in a spot to move to D1. Where do PI bids come in? I know they aren't great, but the PI is better than nothing at all. Can PI bids get you to D1, if you make deep runs? Or is it pretty much NT or nothing?

I ask because I'm about to make my first postseason tournament, but it's going to be the PI. Just wanted to kind of get an idea of their value.

I don't know that 4 NT's is the case ... I moved from D2 to D1 (albeit a really bad team) after 1 season in D2 and a first round exit.  I think it depends on what you're looking to move to in D1.  I have several longish term D3 teams where I have options to jump to D1, again, not Big 6, but it's D1

Did you move to D1 recently? I think people have been saying it's harder to move to D1 than it used to be.

I'm not sure Pallas but I do know the PI has very little effect on prestige compared to the NT. Are you just trying to get to D1 no matter the school?

I think a PI championship is worth as much as a NT 1st round loss.

I haven't decided yet, to be honest. Probably. But I know location matters a lot, and I know I'd have to develop a better D2 resume to get even Mid-Majors.

Having recently won a PIT and pondered it's effect on prestige, I concluded it was worth less than a NT one-and-done.
