If anyone's left here... Did a search and couldn't find anything, though I know this has been covered.

Lou Boudreau has some seasons where he has one eligible game at catcher (D/A/B fielding). There are other players like this. Is there a fielding penalty for players that have under 20 eligible games at a position? If so, how steep?

In other words, can I successfully field a team with Lou Boudreau starting 162 games at catcher?

I believe if there's a rating shown, that's how it plays. Penalties only come when you play someone at a position where they are not rated.

Right. There are penalties for playing less than 20 games, but that's already accounted for in the rating. If they didn't do this there would be quite a few A+ fielders for making 1 putout in 1 attempt (or thereabouts).
