I'm gauging interest for a league where owners would select a franchise with a reduction in cap space. I know this is not typically popular in that the stats of your team will not be flashy, but if you've ever wanted to use players like rookie ABA Moses Malone, rookie ABA Julius Erving from ABA teams like the Virginia Squires, Stars, Floridians, etc or "ancient" old school teams like the Nationals, Fort Wayne Pistons, St Louis Hawks, Cincinnati Royals etc. this would be your chance. Want to still play with the Lakers? Fine by me, but you would only be able to spend ? $42 million, most likely less. An agreed upon cap doesn't exist yet, but I've attempted to draft old school teams for another league and found 48 mil to be too much money to spend, in many cases over 20000 minutes for a team. I encourage debate on this believe it or not, but I'm firm in my belief that 48mil is much too high to make it fair across the board. Go here: http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/ to try to draft ABA/Old teams at 35 to 42 million, then try it at 48... let me know what you find... I've personally tried drafting (at the high cap) the Bobcats, Squires, Wizards, Nationals, Stars, and others and haven't had much luck.
Thoughts?
I will only start this league if I can find 8 people to weigh in/and or verbally commit.
