I have played a lot of seasons and never had anything like this happen to me before.  I was 50-27 (probably playing a little over our talent), but have since gone on a 6-24 streak (it started as a 3-18 streak).  Even with teams that were below .400, I have never had a such a horrible streak.

I know this is a bit of whining and it is a small sample size, but just curious if others have experienced such a big turnaround (other than the Washington Nationals this year).

The Cleveland team? The biggest thing I can see with a quick look is the starting pitching was probably playing above their means. The team isn't a 6-24 team but I can see a few of the starters that you have that could end the season 6-14. Throw that in with your SP1-2 having a bad game or two and a 4-5 game losing streak isn't that uncommon. Usually later in the year my teams start going through losing streaks too as other owners figure out how to play my guys.

Oh believe me, I know that the starting pitching is not top notch.  Just saying that I have thrown out much worse before and not gone through this.  The one thing this team does have is great defense.  Other than putting Torres or Garces in RF, almost all my fielders are either SS quality fielders or 2B quality.  This also has proven to me that defense does not help pitching as much as we might think it does.  I would much rather have a team that bashes and fields like crap (all observational, and not backed by solid stats).

The Vipers won 100,106 and 102 games the last three seasons.  Then, out of nowhere, HBD dealt that same team a 6-34 stretch .   Believe it or not we missed the playoffs.  That's the beauty of hbd for you

It's what I love / hate about the sim. My Riley team had 90 and 89 wins 4 seasons ago, then last season we won 72 with the same squad and were absolutely terrible. This season I made a couple of free agent aquisitions just to make my team somewhat competitive and we're on pace to win over 100. I look at my squad and I still don't see how it's happening.

Thanks for the responses.  It is also the reason that I really dislike 1 year MWR.  Any 70 win team can become a sub 60 win team with a change in luck.  If you want a MWR then at least make it a two year.

If your "goal" when starting a season is 70 wins, you deserve a bad streak that puts you under the MWR.

I agree with that. Even the 3 win MWR. With my team, I had back to back 50 win seasons, I wasn't trying to tank, I even traded one of my first round picks to get better faster, year after that, 86 wins. Sometimes a lot of stuff can just go wrong all at once.

I started out 0-11 one season somehow but still ended up making the playoffs with 90+ wins.
