Letting leagues sit idle, and unfilled for months has to be a lot more costly than dropping the price by a third. If more people could afford to buy more teams, these leagues would fill faster, and be ready to renew earlier and spend more money, instead of everyone sitting around waiting for months for a league to fill. It's ridiculous.

Price doesn't matter to me. I just am in too many leagues and don't have enough time to manage all of them. There's too many leagues for the owner pool. Simple as that.

That also would be true. I sure wish WIS would do something to fix it. It doesn't even make sense for me to buy another team so I can play. Chances are that league is doing nothing also. WIS apparently doesn't care about this game at all, or the people playing it.

I think they should cap the number of leagues.

Making it cheaper is not a good way to make a better, more attractive product.

I buy a $5 hamburger, take a bite, say "Bah, this tastes like ****", throw it in the trash and go to another burger place.
I buy a $30 steak, take a bite, say "Bah, this tastes like ****", send it back and get another steak until they get it right.

Cheaper HBD would lead to more abandoned teams and no one to take them.

Case in point: the two new test worlds testing the new UI on the WIS test site.  Free to the owners who volunteered to test.

I just counted 17 teams across the two worlds that are abandoned (owner not logged in for that past 7+ days).

17/64 = 26.5% abandonment.

Then cap the leagues. I don't care. Do something. Do ANYTHING. This is a joke. I just got home from a two week vacation and we have less owners in the league then we did before I left. People get tired of waiting. And it happens in every world I've played. I've been idle and not spending any money on this site for over a month. They could be getting regular income from me, IF I COULD PLAY!

Your predicament indicates the real problem.  Choice of world.   In the last two weeks, 18 worlds have started.   Just not your world.

So it's my fault for choosing this world, which I've played several seasons in, and want to keep my team? Really?
The name of the game is HARDBALL DYNASTY. Theoretically I could change leagues every season and maybe play more, but that's hardly the DYNASTY part of the game. It kind of defeats the reason for playing. There are other games I can play where I have a new team every season

I wonder how long most of those sat idle before they started.

You do realize that Smoltz was a merged world, right?   Why did they merge?   Because 2-3 worlds had trouble filling.

But, yeah, I've been saying for years that choosing the right world is far more important than choosing the right team.

I've been in several worlds, they've all had trouble filling. If you really don't believe there is a problem, I guess that's your opinion, but it's ridiculous

A factual representation of this game would be, "Spend $25 today, and you might get to play in 6-8 weeks." It happens. It happens way to much.

Some worlds roll and fill quickly, with little turnover.  Very consistently.

Some worlds don't.  Also, very consistently.

Why do you think that is?

I never said there isn't a problem.   I just disagree with you on what it is.
