Can't you inform of RS to wipe it out? I did the same thing last recruiting season and needed to inform of RS while throwing a couple more HVs his way. He still signed.

To clarify what Benis is saying.  You can inform off redshirt to take away the promised start, then inform of non-redshirt the same cycle so that the redshirt doesn't have as much of a negative affect.  You will still probably need to offer another campus visit to offset it.  Also, don't inform of non-redshirt if you plan to redshirt him, because he won't be happy.
