Space Age Progressive League - 1946 to the present

Rules

  • Only players listed in the player pool are eligible for the draft
  • Park Selections -You may change to an available park, which will move you to the city as well. We will retain league alignments. An owner may change divisions, but not leagues. For example if a AL owner decides to move to CAL, but he's currently in the PLE, he would move to the PLW and the most eastern team would move to the PLE. If you decide to move, you must do so with one of your regular draft scheduled picks. You will then have an extra pick added to the end of the RND following your last scheduled pick. For example, if you have 5 scheduled picks, and you make a park selection with your 4TH RND pick, a pick will be added to the end of the 6TH RND to make up for the player pick
  • all time slots will be 30 minutes
  • Smail next 2 in line
  • If a player is listed who was part of someone's keeper list, then that player belongs to the owner who picked him during the draft. This is why reviewing the player pool to ensure that your guy isn't there is important. The reason for this rule is so that everything is laid out before hand and if we run into the issue it's been addressed. I've seen pools on hold for days because of this exact issue.
  • If you make an uneven deal during the draft, or trade away a player for a pick next year you must make up that pick during the supplemental round
  • League
    • No Cap, No Waiver Wire
    • No DH
    • Max Keepers is 20
    • 4 year record for placement of draft slot
    • snake style draft (even numbered rounds will be reverse order of uneven numbered rounds)
    • from '46-'62 we will be using last season Players from the years '40-'45 as fillers, known as "Secondaries/Supplementals"
    • The "Secondaries/Supplementals" will be made available to draft along side of the current seasons rookies.
    • The "Secondaries/Supplementals" can be kept as part of each teams alloted 20 max keepers each draft
    • RL draft of AAA players. Total Roster can be up to 30
    • Able to trade picks 2 drafts in advance eg. at gm #1-#120 of '46 you can trade picks for the '47 & '48 draft. After game #120 you can trade picks for the '49 draft
  • Please post your picks in BOLD with POS If Picking a Secondary player, please list season beside their name

Above are the league rules. We are currently using a list of players last seasons between 1941-1945 (Secondaries/Supplemental) to help with the shortage of IP's and PA's. We will be getting rid of these players after the '63 season.

Below is the current roster that has just been entered into the '56 season and if someone wants to take over right now (before the league starts) that would be awesome or after the '56 season ends is fine too.

I'm currently managing this team (I have another team in this prog and am just caretaking SF for 1956 unless someone wants to take them over...).  The lineup isn't great, but every team has holes in this league, since we have 20 prog teams drafting from 16 MLB teams...hence the reason for the use of secondary players as described above.

On the other hand...look at that starting rotation: Buhl, Haddix, Lary, Rush, Stobbs...that's a damned good rotation in a regular prog...in one like this that has thin pitching on every team, it's one of the 2 or 3 best in the league.  Don't know if they'll win their division, but they should be very competitive this season.  Happy to let someone else manage them if you want to take them over.
