Season is up and I get the emails "I wanted to make sure you knew I was out here. Call me if you think I'd fit in with your program."

How much effort do you have to put into these guys? Would they accept with a phone call and scholly?

Are you referring to guys that have dropped from a division above that were backup options, or the guys that randomly contact you?  Because if it's the latter I've never contacted any of them them; most aren't talented enough to play on a D5 team.

Yes, have a D1 SR drop down to D3. Have 7 spots to fill so was going to grab him with as little money as I can hopefully.

I've had this happen to me today and it wasn't the typical contact from recruit you get during recruiting season like I think you're suggesting Darnoc. I don't have a ton of seasons under my belt but this was the first time this happened to me.

The season just ended in Allen last night and I got a message from this kid saying "my uniforms were sweet". I'm D3 and he's a transfer from D1 Georgetown like you have KVegas.

Recruiting hasn't even started yet and won't start for awhile so I thought it was strange. But like I said, not many seasons played so maybe it's normal.

They have to be recruited just like normal.

LOL it's the same guy! Guess he doesn't really like me that much haha.

Those are guys that quit whatever team they're on at season's end due to blown promises and/or lack of playing time. Sometimes those guys can be decent for the level they show up at (if their former owners didn't wreck their work ethics...), but, yeah, they tend to contact everyone within a set radius of them that meets their criteria (I think they also have to match either the Off or Def, but that might just be a coincidence for the ones I've bothered to peek at...).
