I would like to thank all of you for not selecting any Braves.
I came close in the third round, but went with a different bullpen guy.

I lost two outfielders.  I might have used Kaline, but wasn't using Crawford.  When you have Cobb and Heilmann in your outfield, the rest kind of falls into place.

This was a challenging draft for me, especially having access to the 1969-2015 guys, but that payroll limit made it a tricky balancing act.  One I don't think I negotiated all that well.

One other observation about the Tigers.  I always knew that their pitching was somewhat limited in the modern era, but the lack of pitching pre-1968, even in the dead ball era, is quite amazing, especially for a team that had a fair amount of success over the years.

I'm glad you didn't take my deadball RP.

I basically built my entire roster after my first round pick of Speaker.  I had to hope nobody took Aaron (in round 1) or Holmes (in round 2).  I knew I was getting Chesbro (or Cy Young) in round 3. I was taking Rizzuto or Pesky in round 2.  I spent $19.9M on modern pitchers (Maddux + 4 relievers) and $19.2M on deadball pitchers (Chesbro/Northrop).  Overall, I spent only $56.2M on pitching (Spahn will probably get killed in this league).  But the $63.8M on offense should make reading the boxscores fun.

My split is even more pronounced...$67 million and change on hitting, $51 million and change on pitching.  I'm a bit light on deadball pitching, as honestly, there was only one Tigers starter even worth considering there (Siever), plus a couple of low inning relievers.  I grabbed Alexander in round one, which should help.  Once I kept Siever, I had my rotation in place.  I might have been better off going with a couple of other modern relievers instead of Cabrera at 3B, but hard to pass up his bat in Tiger Stadium.  When our teams play, schwarze, I fully expect some 9-8 games.

This has been a really odd experience because the Giants are so stacked and I'm blowing almost all of my post-1969 budget on Barry Bonds.

Also I can just grab a whole starting rotation right at the outset.

If I didn't have Verlander (and Scherzer) as post-1969 options, my rotation would probably have been Newhouser and three draft picks.  I might have resorted to Denny McClain, but that would have gotten ugly fast in Tiger Stadium.

Offense: $65,922,874 at .352/.431/.588 with 205 HRs and B-/B- fielding (not counting scrubs)
Pitching: $53,055,244 over 1,399 IP at .187/1.97/.34 (not counting scrubs)

Modern players: $19,617,793
Deadball pitchers: $19,839,999

Bullpen could be stronger but overall I'm pretty happy. I thought Rosen would be gone for sure. I also thought you'd go Cy Young, schwarze, but after taking a look at the Braves SPs I'm not surprised you ended up taking Chesbro.

It really came down to the extra 50 innings that Chesbro had.  With the salary savings Young would've brought, I thought about supplementing those 50 IPs with another low-IP pre-1920 pitcher, but there wasn't a decent one that I could fit under the $20M cap.  And I already rostered any usable RP between 1920-1968).  And playing in Fenway, I didn't want to go too short on innings.
