Is WIS addictive? Topic

•"addiction – a state characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli despite adverse consequences"

Compulsive? Strike one! Yeah, I tried to quit once. Then I tried just having one team at a time. But 3 times a day I missed it.
Rewarding? Strike two! I'm sure those wins on the results page flood the brain with endorphins.
Adverse consequences? Strike three! not because of what I do with WIS, but because of what I could have done instead. what could you accomplish with an extra 10 hours of free time each week?

Just because it's better than heroine doesn't mean it's not addictive.

yeah, it's addictive. For sure. I'm proof of that fact.

Totally addictive.  I've created multiple spreadsheets across the 4 major sports because of this website.  Whenever I'm toying around with new theme leagues, I'll try and create every team in the draft center to see what they'd look like on paper and ensure competitive equality across the league.

Over the past 2 weeks I've created every team in the draft center and saved it to a folder on my hard drive for the Minor League Hockey theme.

Perhaps I shouldn't admit that...

The longer we go without an update the less of an addiction it's becoming for me........

Yes, I think it can become an addiction. WIS is extremely smart by simulating 3 games per day. As a player, you get trained to check your teams everyday 3 times per day. I bet a lot of us don't feel right if we can't check those teams for some reason or another.

You get free credits for making the playoffs. Perhaps $3 here or $1.50 there. Not much. Unless you're skunk and you win championships all the time and probably play for free. :-) But the fact that you have credits lingering around that expire and you want to use makes you actually buy more teams and spend more money. Genius!

I'm addicted to it. But I'm okay with it. I rarely drink and I don't do drugs. I play the lottery (perhaps that's an addiction too) and hope to win big someday and throw a big Sim party. But I love baseball and this game is a hoot to play. So I'm okay being doped up on Sim. :-)
