Hi, a quick question about informing a player of a redshirt. Previously, the player had been considering me. When I informed him of the redshirt, he sent me a message saying "You crazy," and he is now back to undecided.

Have I lost him for good? Or, have I just set back my efforts? In other words, will he consider me again if I invest more home/campus visits?

I did this a couple sessions ago. I sent 1 HV and inform of redshirt and got the You Crazy message. I sent 2 more HVs and he started considering me again and signed. It could take more but I think the general rule of thumb is 2-3 HVs will offset the inform of RS.

I'm glad I did it. He's have a nice senior season for me so far.

Yes more effort can balance out the negative effects of offering a redshirt. Ideally, you should do this the same cycle as offering the redshirt to make sure the player doesn't drop you.

You can always remove the negative effect of the redshirt by informing of non-redshirt, but I assume you still want him WITH the redshirt.

Okay, that's what I assumed, but I wanted to be sure before investing further recruiting money.
