I was traveling this week and missed ARB signings.   Simmy arb'd one of my core pitchers to his 3rd consecutive arb.   I was intending to sign him long term of course.   Anyway...  It was only one or two cycles past ARB signings.   I took a quick look at next seasons FA's expecting to see the dreaded message about going into FA market no matter what I do.   Pleasant surprise to see the said core player was willing to do a long term contract.   Very nice surprise.  I would link him, but clipboard isnt working

Is it common for a player to ARB 3 times and then sign long term?  I read over and over about how it would lead to FA demands so I never tested it out until this oversight while I was traveling.    I am happy with the result.  I signed my player at a discount for the 3rd ARB and then signed him to a 5 year long term... essentially wrapping him up for 6 more years

What's his patience rating?

Its a shame they can't put how many times a player has been arb'ed on the player profile. I know its just a click and a quick count but it would make it easier.

Patience is 98.  Nice call on that !!    I don't utilize that rating for anything at all in appraising players.  But I've got a use for it now ! Thnx man

Kinda thought so.  I've got a pitcher going into his FIFTH arb and he's got 98 Patience.  He's not a building block of my team so I'm probably going to play it out just to see if he might LT afterward.

Unintentional.  He's a failed starter turned long reliever, and right after his first arb I sent him down to AAA and didn't bring him back up till the end of the next season.  So he's got 11 pro seasons, but only just went over 5 ML last season.
