I've got a SF/PF 4 games into his SO season (RS'd) and his WE is only at 29. I'm worried he's not going to reach his max and he could be very good at either position but setting the practice minutes is what's bothering me. I don't know if I should concentrate on making him a "big man" first then work on the PAS and BH his SR year or treat him like a SF and do what I normally do and try to balance out the min so all attributes grow all 3 seasons he has left. Topped out he will be in this range 60 65 70 80 55 70 35 60 60 29 (WE now) 85-90 STA and a horrid D+ FT. Still blue in REB, LP, BH, and PAS. https://www.whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerProfile/Ratings.aspx?tid=0&pid=3171534, how would you handle him, he'll most likely be starting every game from here on out till he's gone.

The good news is that you have enough rebounding for this season. Next year, when he's a junior, you'll have 3 solid rebounders. In two seasons from now, he'll be your lone senior. This is why I'm not a big fan of the SF, they typically aren't strong in any one category at D-2 and D-3.

I don't know the answer, but have a feeling whatever you decide, it probably won't have that much of an impact. It mostly depends on what kind of team you want over the next few seasons. In terms of  positioning, I don't think he could ever play PF. Even if you got his rebounding up a bit, his athleticism is on the low side. Now you might want to make him a decent rebounding SF, but putting him at PF should be out of the question.

Really?? 60 Ath 70 Reb and you would never think of running him at PF in DIII. I've always thought that is pretty average. Maybe a tad bit low on the REB but with 65 speed to go along with it I figured he'd be good at PF, not necessarily dominating the boards but above average in everything else. I look at him as low end Reb for a PF and off the charts for a SF, I haven't seen to many SF in DIII with 70 Reb. Idk do you think he'll max out by the end of his SR year?

Continue to develop him across the board. You can plug him in at the 4 against faster but weaker rebounding teams now and in the future he'll be fine at the 4.. His athleticism is much better than your freshmen bigs.

I like SFs. They're flexible and can plug in almost anywhere. I don't want a team of them, but they can slide in nicely to an existing core. I've got one now that may eventually play the point.

We've all been there with low WE players; I've got two now.

I think by playing him at SF, you would get the benefit of an above average rebounder for SF and you can utilize his other skills.

His ballhandling, passing, speed won't come into play as much if you put him at PF. Why put a below average rebounder, low post guy at PF when you can recruit a much much better guy? If you want a NT team and maybe eventually a championship team, why settle for something below average?
