1 Last Team for 1978 - Filled! Topic

The Real Life Progressive League, heading into its 62nd season, is expanding from 20 teams in 1977 to 24 teams in 1978, and we need an owner for the expansion Seattle Mariners.  This is a traditional progressive league with one exception: in each draft, you can select any player who started his MLB career that year.  That means that P Dave Stewart, P Danny Darwin, OF Lonnie Smith, and OF Pedro Guerrero, among others, can be drafted in 1978, but you won’t be able to play them until they are WIS eligible (they sit on your IR).  This is a solid league with very little ownership turnover.

We will be starting the regular draft soon, and the Mariners have the #2 pick (Paul Molitor or Bob Welch!).  Here is who they have:

SP Steve Renko, Shane Rawley, Paul Moskau, Jerry Augustine, Woodie Fryman
RP Mike Parrott, Sid Monge, Tom Griffin, Bill Castro, Reggie Cleveland, Al Hrabosky
C Alan Ashby, Bob Stinson
1B Tom Paciorek, Lamar Johnson
2B Duane Kuiper
SS Bill Russell
3B Bob Bailor, Richie Hebner
OF Joel Youngblood, Johnny Grubb, Bobby Murcer
DH
DL C Bud Bulling

You've got it!  Pick away.

Two current owners had agreed to take on a second team, given that we were expanding by four and I didn't know how long it would take to get more.  Until we start the draft, we can take 1-2 additional owners for those other teams.  Shaggyno9's pick will determine whether it's two AL teams, or one of each.

Johnsonak87 has signed on for team #3.  That leaves one slot left for the fourth team!  Still waiting to hear which teams shaggyno9 and Johnsonak87 are taking.

Shaggyno9 takes San Diego.  That leaves AL teams only.

Johnsonak87 took Toronto, which leaves the Seattle Mariners still up for grabs, with the 2nd pick in the expansion and regular drafts.

That didn't work out.  Seattle is still available.

I'll take Seattle if they're still available.
