All the worlds are ghost towns......at best the D3 schools are filled at a 34% at worst it's under 20%.    Now, I don't think you'd want to have a 100% filled world but50-70% would be ideal IMO.

"Please tell me how those are ghost towns?"

Because 2 out of 3 teams are run by SIMS in the best World.

Here we go these numbers are from billy over the summer, i don't have time atm to gather updated numbers, but I can tomorrow:

Total World Population Most-Least
World Total
1 402
8 374
10 356
6 354
2 353
9 346
3 335
4 333
5 331
7 311

So the 2x worlds come in at 2nd, 3rd, and 6th.  Yes what ghost towns.

At D1 the 2x worlds are the most populated as well coming in at 1st 2nd and 4th.

At D2 the 2x worlds are at 2nd, 5th, 7th

At D3 the 2x worlds are a bit weaker at 4th, 5th, 9th.

Please tell me how those are ghost towns?

I will admit however that the 2x worlds at least at D3 are much weaker from a talent standpoint.  But they are for sure not ghost towns, have more coaches, and don't have coaches in the world just because they're not any more 2x worlds like how 2x coaches that can join 1x and just be fed up with the speed.

Take away the coaches that prefer 2x that are in 1x worlds and I think the 2x worlds populations are even better.

Now this could all change when I find the current numbers tomorrow, but I don't think it changes much.

:)
nobody is saying 2x worlds are ghost towns compared to 1/day worlds... just that ALL worlds are ghost towns.

for a while, it seemed like the majority of teams were filled in just about every division everywhere. that would require a world population of about 450-500 teams, and some were more full than that (can check the historical numbers, i post back to season 1 for every world in those pop data threads). having 1/3rd of teams filled feels like a ghost town to those of us who had been around. a world has about 1000 teams (its like 980 or so, i think, someone could check easy enough), which means a third full world is about 330 teams. basically all the worlds in your post except maybe naismith and tark are right around that figure.

i personally think the worlds being full is not a reasonable goal, i dont think long term you can have 324/324 d1 teams filled, those bottom guys would be miserable. i think having about 200 teams would be the point where i'd think worlds should start being opened. i am personally against worlds being opened because how spread out worlds are. i could understand if WIS opened 1 more, to give coaches the ability to start in a fresh world, because that might keep coaches engaged in the game. but opening more than 1 would be gross negligence IMO.

Definitely a divide. I noticed that too when I dabbled in one a day worlds. I wonder how many coaches truly cross over and have both consistently.
its been that way since i started, when tark was the new world, and the only 2/day world in the game. tark definitely became its own little community in a way, as the only 2/day world there were a **** ton of a coaches with multiple ids, i mean probably half the coaches in tark had multiple teams there. lot of vets were used to the 1/day, were too busy for the 2/day, while other folks (like my instantly and completely addicted younger self) got hooked on the excitement of 2/day and couldn't go back. i tried a 1/day in rupp and couldn't take it, it took way too long for my new recruits to be old and competing in the NT! so, i think its always been this way, and it seems the new guys either are too busy for 2/day, or fall in love with 2/day and can't go back to the slower pace.

it always interests me too when i go into the 1/day, to see so many great coaches who i don't know. now that i co-coach 2 1/day teams (have been for quite a while now), i can appreciate the slower pace like i never could before, but i also am not ravenously waiting for the next game like i was as a young coach.

2/day is for more experienced players IMO... It takes more time and energy to game plan, scout..etc..etc when you're not experienced. More time then I have time for.  If I was more experienced, and didn't take me so long ti do stuff, I'd be all for more 2/day.

I recently signed up for Buffalo St in Knight, and I'll see how that goes next season. I definitely spread myself thin because I have too many teams going right now. We'll see how I do and see if I have to drop any.

I have two main thoughts on this whole thread:
  1. I refuse to vote in the OP's poll until there is an actual "?" somewhere.  What are we being asked precisely?  [See.  There's one.]
  2. The big problem since the announcement that there would be an upcoming Beta World testing an entirely new concept, is that there is no sense in trying to advertise or even ask friends to join until the users get to see what that looks like.
So, there is no point to this discussion until WIS either says that (A) they are bagging the massive re-write of recruiting as we've realized that we don't really have a better concept than what is currently in use, and we just want to make the game more playable on phones or tablets and make a few tweaks here and there; or (B) here is the Beta World, who wants in?  We're in limbo now and it sucks!
