hahaha number 3 would be the best/worst thing ever to happen to HD, i already have a list... although i think 8 seasons would be a good cushion for big 6 jobs if you show improvement, 5 if your players just suck anyways.

would people be accepting of sitemails as new or just weak coaches? im afraid to offend people by sending sitemails offering help, but there are too many people that dont seek help and arent good.
I have literally BEGGED for help from the top coaches of the game since I am very mediocre and cannot advance past that stage after two attempts at Big 6 conferences. Some coaches give me very nebulous advice, which is not very much help...if you don't understand, then nebulous answers CANNOT be of help (though I have always appreciated the fact that they responded). A lot of the coaches would NOT respond at all. The person that I consider the most knowledgeable told me he did not have the time to help me....though I can become a (high) mediocre in an empty SIM conference by employing some of his techniques that I have read on the forums from this particular coach (...and I read everything he posts). I have been unable to understand the game well enough to advance beyond a B- at a Big 6 conference. Personally, I think a lot of the top coaches have a system that they had the time (and made the effort) to learn and they keep a tight reign on what information they share so that they remain at the top. There is nothing particularly wrong with that, I suppose. However, in real life coaches are always mentoring others and freely share their knowledge to others. I have been personally frustrated that I have been unable to find a mentor to get me to that next level.....and frankly, I am resigned to the fact that I will always be a mediocre coach in this game unless my head blows up with knowledge like the purple heads in the TV commercials. Still, I enjoy the game.......
Meh. Not sure I would consider myself a 'top coach' but I am most assuredly willing to blather on about what I do to anyone who asks me.

Me too in terms of mentoring.

I also recruited like 10 people from various fantasy league I have been in, and about half of them are still involved, like 5 years later with multiple teams. If you are in a fantasy league, you should try to get a group of coaches to join you in a D3 conference that is relatively empty so you can all play together. The conference I picked was the USA South in Phelan, which today may be the strongest D3 conference in HD, but at that time was not full. The coaches I recruited that are still here are toknowpepsi (my son), skinzfan, cole, irrevocable. Jaycee was also in HD for a long time. Many of us jumped from D3 to the Ivy league together after a number of years.

Another idea for WIS in terms of marketing would be to contact smaller schools and see what the cost might be to run an ad on the back of ticket stubs for their games. Then you are reaching fans. They could just offer to print the tickets for them, in exchange for allowing their ad on the back of them, or offer to help offset the cost of the tickets by doing that.
