my #1 pick is thinking about the slot offer of $4M.

last time I had the #1 pick, he did the same thing. original demand was $4M, he said he'd think about it. if I remember right, he came back with a slightly higher demand. said he'd think about the offer. came back with another higher demand, and then accepted it (either that or he just took some time to think about the second offer and eventually took it). he ended up signing for $5.1M.

anybody know if it would do me any good to offer him more money now, rather than wait for him to come back with a higher offer?

A) I'm not very patient. B) I want him to get every game played he can for obvious development reasons, even though I'm aware that the few games he missed probably won't be that big of a deal... this just adds to reason "A".

Im not sure if you just offer more right away if he will just go a head and sign. Im not very patient either, but I always like to have the option of the type D compensation, so I always wait it out.
