Do I take a chance and put my balls to the wind? Topic

Been sitting on a B- prestige for a long time now and feel like I need to be aggressive to land a top player. The guy I'm looking at is being considered by an A+ team and saying "is the early frontrunner but the family tells us he's not sold". I have five openings and so does he but I also have the majority of my budget left. Signings start tonight so do I take a chance on him?

My understanding with that level of prestige difference - you'd need to more than double his effort. Things I would strongly consider - is he in any battles? Do I have a geographical advantage? It's not uncommon for an A+ school to just camp on a guy and spend only if he needs to spend. It's likely he has quite a bit of money left and can react as needed to a volley on your part. You are also in a smaller conference, so he likely has more conference post season cash. I would consider deleting your post if you go for it because you've just revealed some intentions and ballpark budget figures. If there is no geographical advantage, you will probably have to spend 50k to his low 20k range just to be even...

You have no shot. And it's the curse of B-... It's the toughest spot in D1. You better check elsewhere. I tried on a five stars... to see more owners come to battle on him... I lost all my money.

pick one guy in your range (probably overall top 25-100 range) and go all out, Spending 2/3 of your budget to that 1 guy that will be a 4 yr starter is well worth it because in reality you can fill the rest of your class with cheap $1000-2000 guys that only slightly worse than guys you have to spend $10,000-14,000.

The only way is if he is in a battle or two that look to be expensive. You have to make a lot of assumptions about how much he has spent already and how he values the recruit vs. the other ones he is in a battle in. Saying no shot isn't true, but it would have to be the perfect scenario.
