Redshirting a 5th year senior Topic

So I'm curious what might be the ramifications if I redshirt a 5th year senior. The rest of my senior class are back up quality and the core of team is underclassmen. Thoughts?

Pretty sure you can't do it. The game only allows a player to stay 5 years, so you can't redshirt an ineligible.

That's what i thought but there IS a redshirt button option in the preseason menu. So that's why i'm now trying to figure out what the deal is. I know if I do his WE will likely drop to 1 but he's mostly maxed out anyways. I"m just curious as to: a. Can I do it? b. Are there any other ramifications possible other than a WE drop?

No, if you try it will tell you something about not being able to redshirt a 5th year player. You're right though the redshirt option shouldn't even be there.

Yep, not sure why it even gives you that "option", but if you try to use it, you'll get the message that Lunardi mentioned. That "option" really should be removed for players like that.
