Quick Recruiting Question: Topic

I always thought that a recruit will send you a scholarship response message if you were going ahead or falling behind in a battle. I just had a recruit send me 2 messages, which to me, seem like I am behind on both. The battle is with a Sim and I did not think that they put in any extra effort now that we are a few cycles past signings.

5 AM: Coach, thanks again for the scholarship offer - I really like your program, but I have to tell you, I may still have some other options that I want to check out yet.

8 AM: Hey coach, your scholarship offer really means a lot to me. I can see myself at ******* next season. But, another school is promising me a way to make my own name for myself. That's awfully appealing. I just can't decide yet.

Do both of those messages mean that I am behind in the battle?

Thanks

Here is a list of scholarship messages organized in a chart. I think you are behind in both messages without a doubt.

Do you have FSS for this recruit? If so, what is the Word on the Street?

Scholarship messages are sent when there is a change in your position in the battle, which doesn't necessarily mean going from ahead to behind or vice versa. Sometimes it can mean you went from being "way behind" to "just a little behind," or something like that. I don't know about those messages specifically, but if I'm battling a sim and I get two "behind" messages in a row, I assume I'm making progress, but not enough progress yet.

that first part of your post, that you get a scholarship message only going ahead or falling behind, is a forum myth. you get a scholarship message any time there is a change in the situation, as ojinga said. im not sure you can't get the same scholarship message category twice in a row, either, if both schools spend in a cycle. so, i wouldn't try to read into anything except what the actual message itself says.

Thank you all for the responses, I put in a little more effort and was able to grab him. Very useful information for future references.
