Unless the coach says something like "backup option" "If those fall through" "you might have a shot".
It's basically the last few words that matter. What are they in the message?
Also, a general (very general) rule of thumb is Under overall 500 (regardless if he is all red or all blues) can be pulled down. As you are a B+, you can look to get guys at 510-515. The A- and up prestige seem to get a big spike up to 530 or so (my conference mates get these guys often and they won't consider me an option). There are exceptions where a 480 guy will tell you to shove it. And again, these are very rough numbers. If you see a guy at 523 who is holy cow full of blues, call the coach. It's worth the $10 on the off chance he can consider you.
