Seattle was definitely surprising, but thinking about it, it does make sense, in a good spot and a generally weak conference means they can win a lot and then we see them disappear on the important measures of NT wins and then NC wins.

It the important measures we see conference power come into play with the premier GLV schools dominating along with a bunch of CCAA schools providing the most.  They both combined for 10 of the top 25 in NT wins.  Personally I'd though we see more LA schools than Chico, SB, and SD show up.

D2 seems to really have 2 normally dominant conferences in the GLV, CCAA.  The heartland has proven to be very strong as well, but overall I'd put it a tad behind the first two.  Lone Star always has top teams, but I don't think it is ever as dominant or as much depth as the rest.  The we have some teams sneaking in like Bowie State and Delta State.  I feel Bowie is a decent job in Maryland in a conference that can be good, but I'd guess a majority of it's sucess is from mainly one coach and then some sprinkled in success elswhere same with Delta St.

If I had to rate jobs based on location and expected conference strength it would have to be something like:(not exactly my top 5 personal D2 schools, but somewhat close)
  1. Wisconsin Parkside
  2. San Francisco State
  3. SIUE(although surprised Mizz Stl is less dominant I guess people just prefer SIUE over Mizz Stl)
  4. CSULA
  5. Tarleton State(I hate TX, but it seems to be one of the top TX schools overall, I'd give it the edge over Angelo State which has better sucess, I think due to better luck with elite elite coaches there)
New Jersey Tech and Philly U seem the best situated in a strong Central Atl conference.

Seattle suffers from a weak conference as well as North Florida.

what is it about parkside and bowie state that situate them so well?

i also really love recruiting from chadron st, but that might be because there are just lots of sims around me? idk. i expected west florida to be be ranked higher; i've always thought they were positioned very well.

billy g was at SIUE a long time - does that skew the results?

thx for the Heartland shoutout as it were...

Bowie's in a nice spot (no jokes, please, it's still too soon. No Prince jokes either, goddammit.). There are cheap states around it that produce a fair number of potential pulldowns. Philly and NYC are within a reasonable distance. Doesn't hurt that it's on the geographic edge of its conference, which means less conflict with conferencemates.

Parkside is the closest to Milwaukee and I believe 2nd closest to Chicago. As well as being in generally a top 3 conference so a lot of post season cash.

It's also the only d2 school in Wisconsin.

Grand Canyon is the only d 2 school in Arizona.

I think I'd take Lewis over Parkside, but they're both situated nicely.

Wisconsin Parkside- 50 miles from Chicago 30 from Milwaukee

Lewis - 30 miles from Chicago 110 Milwaukee

is the 20 miles worth having a worse distance advance to milwaukee and the recruits in Wisconsin?

also Wisconsin P- 110 from Grand Rapids Mi compared to 150 for Lewis.

If the GLIAC WP if pretty much in control of Wisconsin and Eastern/Northern Michigan whereas Lewis has to deal with St Josephs for anything South of Chicago and has competition for the central illinois kids. Is the 20 miles enough adv?

I like Lewis but the couple times in my tenure that Chicago has been dry I've had a tough time recruiting, due to being in an almost full GLV with a good coach at Missouri S and T as well
