Does anybody have any insight as to how the recruit rankings are determined? Is it based fully on current ratings, a mix of current and potential ratings, etc.? I know in the grand scheme of things the ranking doesn't matter, but I find it interesting how sometimes a lower ranked player has better current and potential ratings than a higher ranked player.

It uses current rating and values position cores slightly more. I think it also includes IQ and GPA.

I think recruits' rankings matter only because depending on your team prestige, you can recruit certain players. Low major Division-1 teams with a D prestige can't recruit players ranked #49 or better at their position (or something like that). Those underrated guys in the #85 range or #105 are key.

Also, simliar to player rankings, how does HD determine Top-25 team rankings. Teams that are ranked among the top 30 or so are given a score of between 990 and 1160, but where does that number come from?

This seems like one of those things that hasn't been updated since the introduction of potential.
