Recruiting seems really fun Topic

Not sure, but I think it could be something really fun... I like it so far. I think scouting will need some practice.

Not having to sort through dozens of messages is nice.

I REALLY like the fact that you have to build up attention points before a player will let you do a home visit or before he will do a campus visit, and that players only take a maximum of 5 CVs to schools. This will prevent the 8PM poaching where someone comes out of nowhere on a recruit that has been considering you the whole time.

I also like that the attention points do not have a cost associated with them. This will help prevent situations where I spend a lot on a player and lose the battle and have nothing left to get another player with.

I also like the fact that all players seem able to be recruited by all schools. This will help the D2 and D3 coaches who were worried about the new system. Even though the scouting budget is fairly small, you may be able to pick up some really good talent nearby that is passed over by the D1 schools.

For a D1 user, having to click the scouting button 4 times for every guy you want to scout has made the process incredibly time intensive and repetitive, many times more than the existing system. At D1 you have to go to level 4 scouting because at level 3 a guard with SPD 70 and low potential is considered an A+ prospect.

Also if you don't put your attention points in during the 6-8pm first cycle you have fallen behind, so this update does nothing to address the inconvenience factor of recruiting that exists in the current system. At best this is moving sideways, at worst people wont be willing to put in the additional time to maintain multiple teams and will drop many.

I agree - one of the main complaints I have is it seems as if this is a significant amount of work compared to what was done for recruiting before.

Seble has already said that he's looking into the possibility of extending the hours for that first cycle so that players aren't restricted to the 6-8 time period.

You can rearrange your points all you want. It is taking into account on the next cycle. I still don't know when a recruit opens up though. I haven't build sufficient effort to even go to visit. I agree on Scouting Baker, there is one layer that has to go and it's 1 for sure. Up the price a bit and get rid of 1.

What is up with the beta test? I've seen nothing update since 8:00 pm. last night. Is this the same for everyone?

Seble had to fix an obvious exploit last night after the first cycle had run and forgot to turn the cycle process back on (he ran the 5pm one again manually after he reset it). He posted on the Beta forums that he activated the process again and all missing cycles will get processed (with maybe 5 minutes between cycles).
