The off day between conference and non-conference has been removed! The game is listed for 9/5 and lines have already came out.

Interesting. I never really saw the point of an off day anyway. Seems like HD would want fewer actual days in a season for financial reasons too. I never saw the reasoning for off days because of that as well. Why have an extra day when nothing is happening anyway? Why not just get to the next game and bill everyone for the next season. That would represent about a 2% increase in revenues in a one game a day world, and a little over 3% for a 2 game a day world. Since it does not really affect the game except for player improvement, seems like a good move on their part too. And technically, it's not really a price increase.

The off day was because sometimes noncon schedules got jacked up and a random team would have an 11th noncon game while some other team had an off day in the first 10 and would play on the 11th day.

A decent scheduling software program could've easily solved that problem, considering there are an even amount of teams and games.

Also, it's possible it may go back to being an off-day, in between nonconf and conf, next season. Or it could be a permanent fix. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Humans scheduling a big chunk of the games complicates things for the software program.

in recent months, at least, several worlds have not had an off day after nonconf - but I dont recall a world where it was changed during the season if that is what happened in wooden
