Soria. Better hitter and catcher. Only advantage Gettys has is being a LHB.

I think Gettys would be a slightly better hitter. Not sure he'd be enough better to make up for Soria's better catching skills.

I'd take a small hit with the bat if I could get the defense/pitch calling. Go with Soria.

Neither has the durability to play full time. And Gettys' VsR, combined with batting L, makes him enough the better hitter against RHP to offset the defensive difference. Platoon them.

Or, if you can't get anything of value for your incumbent catcher Soler, whose primary virtue is also that he hits RHP well, platoon Soria with Soler this season and then platoon the two kids next season.
