If I promise minutes to an "ineligible" is the promise for the first season he is eligble, or next season when he cannot play at all?

If you promise him a start, and he does not qualify, you never have to met the promise.

There used to be a bunch of guys getting qualified before in the beta. Not sure if that was a bug or many guys make it by passing their SAT. If he DOES pass (and get qaulified) during recruiting, and you have promised him a start, then you will have to meet it.

I have used this tactic probably a 100 times in recruiting. I literally NEVER had a kid become eligible pre update. First time I did it in 3.0, the guy passed his SAT's in between periods. Just sayin'....
