I only notice this because I like to schedule sim zone teams in non-conference.
In Smith, my sim opponent Georgia college was playing press even though they are remarkably better in zone and played zone last season.
I figured an aberration.
But now I'm playing Novasoutheastern, They are now playing man-2-man even though remarkably better in zone and played zone last season.
A conspiracy to get rid of zone teams?
Just kidding, but the geniuses who developed 3.0 have probably inadvertently changed some defense logic for sim teams ... and I doubt they can or will change it.

I am guessing that their defense may have been changed from base under a human owner at some point but then went SIM. Dev's recently reset SIM teams to their default OFF/DEF:

Changes:

• Set the max amount of attention points for a recruit to 80. As teams get 20 attention points per recruit this still allows plenty to invest into a recruit without giving an advantage to teams with a lot of scholarships open.
• Improved the optimization of SimAI teams
  • Reset their Offense and Defense to the school default
  • Reset Tempo to Normal
  • Player Distribution
• NBA Draft page - show last draft by default
• Minor display bug fixes

Of course, resetting it makes absolutely no sense ... but whatever ...

I think the logic is to get a better balance of O/D used. Instead of everyone taking over a D3 team and switching to Press so then from that point on you have 80% of teams running press.

Yeah but running press you'll have to take a deep bench and possibly 12 guys.
