Do you HAVE to take an injured player off the depth chart? I've always taken them out and rearranged but in my newest case the 3 guys listed would just move up, reason being I sometimes forget to put them in when they're back from the injury and it'd be nice to not have to worry about it.

I usually do not take them off of the depth chart. If they are injured enough they will not play anyway. I seem to be getting more injuries lately. I had two from the same team in the same age recently.

I have 5 teams and 3 of them have now had extensive injuries (3, 5, and 7 games) in their last season. I can't remember having 3 injuries total in the 140 some seasons I've coached before this.

I just got an injury and wanted to know same thing. Another question is practice mins do they still progress the same? Reason I ask is should I put more min in SH and then when he's back to playing I could go even lower than I am now because of the extra he got while hurt

What's the risk (withing the context of the game) of playing a guy who is injured? Is it just a matter of his performance being less effective, or can he aggravate his injury?

What's the rule of thumb for getting him back in the playing rotation as he's recovering back towards 100%?

They expect to play (for purposes of minutes promises and starts) when they are over 60 health.

I try to leave them off the depth chart (or just set them to rest) until they're up to 70-75, depending on the importance of the player and the particular game when they're in the lower 70s. I'll still try to control the minutes unless the player in question is simply that much better than any option. At around 85, I'll play them identical to if they were full health and haven't seen too many negatives.

an issue to think about is whether you want him to play as soon as able

when last I checked, the game will LET him play when he gets over 60% healthy. I often prefer not to have the guy play until he is say 80%. But that of course depends on your choices.

Supposedly there is a chance of re-injury. I dont know what the chances are but have not seen it - although I dont play my guys until they are above 80

One more thing - if you made a starts or minutes promise and a guy gets hurt, he will EXPECT to play when over 60% - which creates a degree of a dilemma
