It's mot dumping, just preserving competition, reducing frustrations, making it a bit more logical.

Aren't all D1 users playing the same game? Don't they have the same advantages/disadvantages as all the other D1 users? You're making it sound like D1 users are really disadvantaged while, at the same time, saying D2 and D3 are easy.

I think the effort reduction would probably be appropriate as well. I have two D2 teams, as well as the D1 teams, and if a D1 team comes along and takes a recruit at the last minute, that does not bother me in the slightest because it is realistic.
Are we talking RL or HD? What may fit into your impression of what is realistic for RL is terrible for game playability. WIS has to be concerned with the latter, not the former. I'm not surprised to see zorzi and Bevis argue that the game should be made easier yet for D1 coaches, but frankly I am surprised to see you start sounding like that.

As long as D1 coaches are at that level based on merit, they don't need D1 welfare. If they are not there based on merit and need D1 welfare, well, too bad. (Let the flaming begin.)
Spud : the game is really tough at D1, pretty simple at D2 and D3. Say I lose a three stars at D2, I will still sign a legit player. I tested getting to a job, second session at D3, and ended up with five quality players, for five spots. I recruit easily on 1to 6 openings in D2 and my teams are stronger than ever ( other teams too). D1 needs help, believe me. It's already tough battling all D1 owners, if D2 gets stars players, top 200 players easily in second session because of lack of difference in efforts between D2 and D1 or recruits signing too fast, it's not working as intended. D2, d3, not broken. Ctech d3 just won on a642 overall rating. It's better than most d2 and d1 teams (sims in d1)
This is spot on.
To elaborate further, I don't think people really understand the differences between D1 and D3. At D3, the talent gap between NT teams and middling teams is sizable but can be helped a little bit by some better coaching/roster management changes/influences. At D3, if I lose out on my top choices, I can find guys who can help me win. Maybe he's a shooter with terrible defense and bad ath. Maybe he's just all Ath/Def and no reb or offense. Those guys can get me to the postseason and I can win with them. I can compete. (I've argued this gap is going to grow with 3.0 and yes, just take a look at cal tech's monster team but I'll try not to disgress).

The talent gap between your top B6 teams in your conference and the lower tiered teams is much bigger. Even the lower teams within the conference who are human coached. The recruit generation is out of wack and you'll have players that are head and shoulders above others and this pool isn't huge. So if you lose out on a battle, it's harder to look and see who can help you win. You can't just pick up a role player with 1 strength like you can at D3 and still be competitive.

I see zero benefit of having legit D1 quality players moving down to D2 or D3. You're just moving around the imbalance issue. Maybe if they fixed recruit generation this would be different but that seems extremely doubtful.

I agree with Benis, but Benis what about this strategy? Recruting High major div 2 players for low major div 1 teams to fill out a roster. Since you won't be competing in the national tourney and more than likely heading out in round 1 or 2.

One difference between D1 and D3:
"At D3, if I lose out on my top choices, I can find guys who can help me win."
At D1, you cannot wait like that. You have to be prepared in advance. D1 coaches are smarter than D3 coaches because they have to be ... right? D1 coaches ... smarter? Right?
I couldn't find another guy at D3. D1 schools swooped in and took them in two cycles. I didn't have time to open a scholarship on another player. Boohoohoo, woe is me.
