Pasting stats into a spreadsheet no longer works? Topic

I used to be able to copy/paste my team stats into a spreadsheet. With the new HD format, I can't copy the entirety of the stats pop-up, and can't paste (as unicode or otherwise) without crashing Excel. Has anyone found a workaround to grab the data? Thanks.

Try using chrome. I still have to paste the names in one column and the ratings in another. But I have not tried with the stats - only the ratings. Chrome seems to be the only one that keeps the colors - Safari does not.

I typically use chrome with no issues of copying and pasting. I just tried with IE and it freezes up excel.

Same here. I use chrome and I have not had any issues with copying/passing stats in the new version.

I can never get it to copy the colors into google sheets, I thought there was a trick but I have forgotten it.

Here is how I import it.

Open a new Excel sheet with cursor in the A1 cell.

Click on the data tab, then clock on the "From web" icon (second from left).

It will open a "new web query." Copy and paste the web address for your team stats (something like this: https://www.whatifsports.com/hd/TeamProfile/Stats.aspx?tid=11946)

That page will load. It may ask you if you want to continue running scripts. Click yes. Once the stats page fully loads, hit "Import."

The other way to do it is to download the "Scraper" extension for Chrome (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/scraper/mbigbapnjcgaffohmbkdlecaccepngjd?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog). If you highlight one line of stats on your team's stat page and right click "scrape," it will pull all the stats off in a format that makes for easy copy/paste into spreadsheets. This extension was a godsend during 2.0 recruiting.
