There is no considering credit, so there's no benefit to offering early *except* if we assume it does advance the bar on promises; for recruits who want playing time, there is a benefit to offering them minutes as early as possible, as that improves your preference profile with them and increases the weight of early APs.

For advice to a newbie, key to understand that postponing the schollie has current effects on your ability to make prgress with the recruit.

Also, I am not sure that withdrawing schollie offer really destroys "virtually all" prior effort. I have had some experience where that did not seem to be the case. A hit, but not virtually all.

I removed the offer once. Went back to very low and made no progress whatsoever when offering a meager amount of AP.

I am sure that what Mike reports happens often - but not always. I have seen a guy stay very high after I revoked offer. May relate to factors like the rating of the player - if he had been thrilled by the offer, maybe he puts up with revocation ....dont know.

My sense is that it usually is a huge hit - but not always fatal.

I won't be able to confirm nor deny that it happens often, infrequently or randomly. I won't do it again.

FWIW the Beta Forums are still available... I however could not find in my (albeit quick) search this information. But I can't imagine it not carrying some sort of effort, even if the effort is only to help open up other actions.
