Questions about 3.0 Topic

1. On preferences, someone answered a question a while back that a very bad and can cancel out a very good. What if I had 3 very goods and 1 very bad? From my understanding, a few people had said you can't have more than 2 very good for preferences, but is this an exception?

2. Assuming a very good equals 1.0 and a very bad equals -1.0. If I have 2 very good and 1 neutral for a player, will the neutral bring down the value or does it have no effect?

3. I've noticed SIM teams are still reverting back to their original offense/defense from season 1. When they added the release note, I had assumed it was just a one time thing, but I've noticed it's still happen after coaches leave. Is this working as intended, because it doesn't seem to make much sense.

4. Also, if a sim team goes from very low to either low or moderate in one cycle, is it automatically assumed they will eventually offer a scholarship?

1. Its assumed that 1VG is about equal to 1 VB, and you can have more than 2

2. Neutral is no affect either way

3. Yup it's the teams assigned O and D

4. Yes it can be assumed they will

1. I am pretty sure you can have/that I have had 3+ very goods...I would disagree with the sentiment that you can only have 2 unless/until someone can point to something official with that in it. The cancelling out is a bit trickier as we've been told that not every preference carries the same weight. Also, there are differing degrees of very goodness/very badness, so just like not all A+ prestiges are alike, so too are no two Very Good/Very Bad's necessarily equal.

2. Neutral is, to my understanding, a multiplier of 1 (i.e. - it neither helps nor hurts what is going on elsewhere in the equation). I don't factor them in when determining how good/bad a fit I have with a recruit.

3. Nope, they want them reverting back when they go to Sim. It is f'd up if you ask me. But that's what they want and it is functioning as intended (other than they still sometimes are ghosting settings from previous coaches for the first season back in Sim with regard to distributions and defensive positioning)

4. Probably, but if you're at moderate or higher and knock them back down to Very Low on the next cycle, I'm pretty sure it triggers the "look elsewhere" subroutine and they'll stop pursuing. I've had Sim make runs at me from their Low vs. my Moderate, but have not had one push at me from Very Low when I was Moderate with a scholarship offer made to the player already. (including when Sim had already offered its scholarship).

Mike, I can state that three VG can happen and it is not exception. I am starting to see it more often as I am refining how I recruit.

Trying not to repeat anything others have already said.

1. There was a cap on how much multiplier you could get on recruiting effort. So even though it listed you as having 6 Very Goods, you were really only getting credit for 5. I'm not sure if that's the actual number but I think it's close to it. I don't remember if Seble ever disclosed it or not. I think he talked about removing this cap but I don't think he did officially - maybe someone else remembers?

2. There is actually a range hidden with each preference including neutral. For example on the wants to play near home, 2 teams could both be listed as Very Good but one of them could be 50 miles away while the other is 100 miles away. So the team that is 50 miles away gets a tiny bit more even though they will both say VG. Same thing for Neutral. So even if it says neutral, you could be on the high or low end of it and actually be getting some bonus or some reduction in recruiting effort. The exception to this is on the O/D preference.

4. Usually but not always. As rednu mentions, the sims are supposed to react to various recruiting actions that are happening against them. Maybe they get beat by someone else and move over to you. Maybe they are winning all their other battles and stop pursuing your guy because you have put more effort against them.
